Book review of Highland Homecoming by romance author B.J. Scott…

Whenever a historical romance author pens a series, I get excited. I feel safer investing my time reading because I know the enjoyment will last longer. B.J. Scott has succeeded in delivering a wonderful trilogy with the Fraser brothers.

5 Stars for Highland Homecoming

Set during one of my favorite times, Ms. Scott guides the reader through Scotland, keeping true to Highland tradition and romance.

Alasdair Fraser and Lauren are tenacious, unforgettably passionate, and completely made for one another. Love never comes easy if its worth keeping–not in the Highlands.

I absolutely adore the beginning, how Alasdair cares for the injured Lauren. His warrior spirit is often overshadowed by his deep compassion. And Lauren is drawn to that warmth. Her own heart is vibrant, responding to the hero’s elusiveness.

Here’s a passage describing  how dedicated and reserved Alasdair is…

True to his word, he’d done nothing to harm her and had made no improper advances. He also kept his distance. In fact, she seldom saw her benefactor. Conversations between them, while civil, were kept to a minimum. He spent very little time inside the croft, which should have made her happy, but she could not help wondering what this man was about. Despite his gruffness, he’d made an effort to dust and clean, prepared and served her meals, saw to her ankle, and tended the fire.

Of course its frustrating, he’s so damned honorable … me thinks the lady wants a kiss.

We catch a glimpse of Lauren’s curiosity…

She enjoyed his company when he wasn’t grumbling about leaving. He tried so hard to hide beyond his gruff exterior, and she was finding it more difficult with each passing day to resist the growing attraction she felt. But with no memory of who she was or where she belonged, to even consider the idea of being anything more than friends with a man was wrong.

I highly recommend this book.
